Speaking about creativity & innovation at She Says
I was invited by the Brighton chapter of She Says to come and speak at their evening of talks “Whats The Big Idea…Innovation and Creativity”.
She Says is a global network for women in the creative and tech industry. This event was organised by Rifa Thorpe-Tracey and was held at the Lighthouse Arts center in Brighton’s North Laine.
I was lucky enough to be talking along side Natalie Lloyd and Gem Fletcher. Nat is the organiser of Brighton TEDx and gave a very insightful talk on her career journey and gave us a behind the scenes peek into organising the TEDx conferences. Gem is art director at Getty Images UK and showed us through her creative processes used to create great images at Getty.
My talk focused on my own journey as an artist & designer as a means to explore key topics. Such as
- The quest for inspiration
- The importance of collaboration
- How to break the rules to benefit everyone
- The importance of “doing it”, even when it’s hard
It was a great event, set in a really friendly and supportive environment and I was really pleased to be involved.
